Financial dashboard

A financial dashboard shows revenue, margin, costs, cash and receivables on one page, refreshed from the accounts instead of rebuilt in a spreadsheet.

A financial dashboard puts the figures a finance team and owner watch on one page: revenue and gross margin for the month and year to date, operating costs against budget, cash in the bank and its trend, receivables and payables with ageing, and net profit. Each figure is compared with budget, last month and last year, and each can be broken down by entity, branch, cost centre or product.

It matters because most finance reporting is rebuilt by hand every month — exports from the accounting system, a workbook, a round of checking. A financial dashboard reads from the ledger directly or on a schedule, so the numbers are current all month, not just after close, and the finance team spends its time explaining them instead of assembling them.

A worked example: a trading company’s financial dashboard shows revenue 3% ahead of budget, gross margin 1.4 points down, cash 18 days of costs and receivables over 90 days up by a third. The finance head clicks the margin tile, sees freight costs by month, and has the answer before the owner asks. Rule of thumb: put cash and overdue receivables beside profit — a profitable company can still run out of money.

In Klayara, start from the finance snapshot template on top of the accounting system or ERP you already run, with finance-only views for sensitive lines. Klayara AI can explain why margin dropped, and the formula assistant writes the calculations. See Klayara for finance teams.
