Dashboard template

Today’s orders, best-sellers and the customers who came back.

The store page a merchant checks at 9am and again at 6pm: revenue and orders against yesterday and last week, what is selling, what is being returned, and whether new customers are turning into repeat ones.

E-commerce revenue

Orders, best-sellers and repeat buyers.

Store platforms show revenue and orders well enough. What they do not show is margin after discounts and shipping, repeat purchase rate by first product bought, or stock cover on the best-sellers. This template adds those by joining Shopify or your store database to cost data and the inventory system.

It is built for the daily rhythm of online retail: the top row compares today with yesterday and the same weekday last week, hour by hour, so a slow morning is visible before lunch. The lower half is for the weekly merchandising and marketing meeting — best-sellers, channels and returns.

Most owners schedule it to their phone at 8am and to the whole team on Monday. See scheduled reports for how delivery works, and the period-over-period entry for how the comparisons are defined.

  • Store owners who check orders on their phone and want margin and stock next to the number.
  • E-commerce managers running a weekly merchandising and marketing meeting from one page.
  • Operations leads who want returns and stock cover on the same screen as sales.
The metrics

What a e-commerce revenue dashboard should show.

Each figure below is on the template from the first minute — rename, redefine or remove any of them.

Revenue

Net of refunds and discounts, today and month to date, against the same weekday last week and last year.

Orders

Count by hour today with yesterday overlaid — the earliest sign that a campaign, outage or price change is working.

Average order value

Revenue ÷ orders, by channel and by first-time vs returning customer.

Conversion rate

Orders ÷ sessions from your analytics, by device and traffic source.

Repeat purchase rate

Customers with 2+ orders ÷ all customers in the cohort, by month of first order. The number that decides how much acquisition you can afford.

Margin after discounts

Revenue minus product cost, discounts, shipping and payment fees, ÷ revenue. Shown by product and by promotion.

Refund rate

Refunded orders ÷ orders, by product and reason, over 30 days.

Revenue per visitor

Revenue ÷ sessions — one figure that combines conversion and order value for comparing channels.

The panels

The charts on the page, and the decision each one supports.

Revenue by hour, today vs comparison

Two lines: today and the same weekday last week. Decides whether to push a promotion or leave it alone by mid-afternoon.

Best-sellers

Top 20 products by revenue and units this week, with margin and stock cover in the same row. Flags a best-seller about to run out.

Revenue by channel and campaign

Organic, paid, email, marketplace and social, with orders, order value and margin each. Decides where marketing spend goes next week.

New vs returning customers

Orders and revenue split by first-time and returning, as a monthly trend. A store that only grows new customers is renting its revenue.

Returns and refunds

Refund rate by product and reason, ranked. Points to the sizing chart or product photo that needs fixing.

Discount performance

Orders, revenue and margin per discount code. Shows which promotions make money and which just give it away.

FAQ

E-commerce revenue template questions.

Something else on your mind? Ask us directly — a person answers.

What should an e-commerce dashboard include?

Revenue and orders against a comparison period, average order value, conversion rate, repeat purchase rate, best-sellers with stock cover, refunds and margin after discounts. Margin and repeat rate are the two most stores miss.

Can we see margin, not just revenue?

Yes. Join order lines to product cost from your inventory system or a cost sheet, and Klayara calculates margin per product, promotion and channel with a formula you can read.

How current is the data?

Store platform data refreshes on the schedule you choose — hourly is common for the daily view. A live-connected store database is current to the minute.

Can we start from this template and change it?

Yes. Add a marketplace channel, a warehouse split or a product category filter and it becomes your own dashboard. Nothing in the template is fixed.
