Conversational analytics is exploring data through a back-and-forth conversation rather than by building charts. You ask a question in plain words, such as “what were sales by region last month?”, get a chart back, and then follow up: “only the north”, “by week”, “compared with last year”. Each answer builds on the one before, the way a conversation with a colleague does. It is the natural next step after a single natural-language query.
It matters because real questions come in chains. A sales director rarely wants one number; she wants the number, then the region behind it, then the customers behind the region. With a traditional BI tool each step means a new chart or a request to the analyst. With conversational analytics the chain takes a minute, and the analyst is left with the questions that need judgement.
The caution is consistency. A conversation that uses its own idea of “revenue” will drift from the dashboards, and an assistant that ignores permissions will happily answer a question the asker should not see. Rule of thumb: the conversation should use the same defined metrics as the dashboards, apply the same row and column rules, and answer with charts built from the data, so every reply can be checked against the page everyone already trusts.
In Klayara, AI chat answers with real charts from live data, keeps the conversation so you can refine, regenerate and rate answers, reads the dashboard you are on, and works within the permissions of the person asking. See Klayara AI.
